Another last minute ...

... race entry!
Early last week my buddy Dave gave me a call wondering if I would be interested in going to the Park City Perfect 10. 10 hours of riding on a ~7 mile, packed punch course of singletrack with lots of tight swithchbacks and some screaming fast decents. Yee Haa!
PC 10 hour, climb
The climb.

I wanted to use it as more prep before Worlds. Getting in some fast laps duo stlye seemed most beneficial. So mid week T-race said she wanted to do it solo, for part of her prep before 24 Hours of Targhee. Easy enough, I told Dave I would join him for the duo. We both have an event in two weeks and were there feeling our own equipment and selves' out.
T-race and I drove down on Friday afternoon, slept in the lot and got up to toe the line for a full day of riding.
Dave and I agreed that I was to start, doing 2 laps first and then he was up for 2. After that we went lap for lap.
With no real expectations and Dave and I agreeing this was training but still a race we rode hard when we were up but not really paying attention to the leaderboard made it very relaxing and low stress.
We both did 8 laps and both had mechanicals. I ripped my derailer off my Alma 29er while climbing hard out of the saddle and making a poor shift around a switchback. Good thing I have a back up race bike, full suspension, Orbea Oiz, which was super fun on that course and very comfy. I learned I will race this bike more.

Dave got by a little better with a flat tire, along with many other people.

Dave's finishing lap, with a smokey fast rear tire.

Now T-race on the other hand was there kicking some arse. She killed it with 13 laps. She took 2nd even with 2 flats and crumby drivetrain issues (1st certainly was'nt out of the picture). I supported her the best I could when on my off laps. She looked awesome the whole time and she was saying how good she felt. T-race is riding very strong and I look forward to supporting her for her first 24 hour solo. Look out!
T-race PC 10 hours
T, just finished.

Dave's wife Michelle was also in attendance helping in the pit and a smiling face to talk with when not riding.
My local buddy Rob also came down to ride for 10 hours. If he took his MTB as serious as his running we would be battling each other. That is for real.
Just another quick, come and go weekend of racing. Oh yea we made it back to Jackson on Sunday afternoon to soak in Granite hot springs for several hours. Ahhhh!
Can't forget this supporter.

Thanxs again friends!
