Kitty

Kitty

So our cat "Kitty" was recently diagnosed with a hyperthyroid.

The options are; give her 2 pills a day for the rest of her life, providing her body accepts them without consequences like diherria, vomiting and scrathing the heck out of herself. Second option of surgery which is never really ideal. Then there is a radioactive iodine injection which is a one time deal that attacks and kills the bad cells of the thyroid.

We opted for the injection. This involves going to a facility that actually does this. The closest was in Salt Lake but they need to keep the cat thier for 7 days (state law) for the radiation levels to drop. Then we found several places in and around the Denver area and they only need to hang on to the cat for 3 days.

Sunday I made the drive straight through to Denver and stayed with some friends. Dropped Kitty off monday am for her injection and am presently laying over in Boulder till I can pick her up Thursday.

I have several friends around the area that I am visiting and staying with. Got out for a hour skate this morning in a park in Boulder they groom when it snows. The track lasts a very short time with the sun and moderate temps Boulder has through the winter. So with the sun shining and 50 degrees in the forcast I should be riding my road bike within a few hours.

Lets all keep our fingers crossed for Kitty's health.
