Pinedale to Atlantic City

This past weekend T-race and I loaded our bikes with our potential touring kits we plan to use for the Divide Route next month and drove down to Pinedale WY (a mere hour fifteen away) for a brief outing on the actual route. This is not the most exciting part of trail but at this time of year and with the spring we have had it felt nice just to be on the mountain bikes on dry dirt logging some miles in front of some beautiful country.

before we ended up here
Atlantic City.

After a bacon mushroom cheeseburger, fries, a bowl of cowboy beans and a few bottles of suds we stepped out of hereAC Merc. freezing in the dark with a partial food coma and then stumbled across this bivy spot, a wood shed.

We woke up to a neighboring store with great coffee a few pancakes and good conversation to get us going to swing it around and do it all over again. Good eats, good times.

These trips are invaluable as there is always something to be learned about you, your partner, your gear, and even some history. A few things I learned or was reminded of:
- weather; it is not warm yet at all, it is always windy in WY, and the snow pack in the mountains is still deep.
- gear; my new MontBell sleeping system works great. The Down Hugger Thermal Sheet paired up with a  Sleeping Bag Cover (wide and long) was plenty with a few spare clothing pieces remaining not worn despite the below freezing night we had.
- The pleasure is within the company and T-race is a great friend, partner, and wife willing to deal with my sometimes "hitler" riding style.
- life on a bicyle is so easy and tranquil
- we have the early settlers to thank for some of our enjoyment of tracing there steps.

Gots to go cause I have a big long bike frame that has to go together...
